A medical team from the Qatar Red Crescent has arrived in Yemen capital Sanaa on a four-month humanitarian medical mission.

“The medical team is expected to make 300 surgical operations with funding from Qatar for intractable cases for the wounded people as a result of events in Yemen,” said Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The delegation is headed by Dr Saleh al Yazidi, chief orthopaedic consultant and includes six other specialists from various medical specialities.

Dr Abdul Malik al-Zubairy, secretary-general of the Medical Association in Yemen, praised Qatar’s help in facing the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the country.
