Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdullatif Al-Zayyani condemned in strong terms the deadly suicide bomb attack on the Yemeni Police Academy in Sanaa.

"This despicable act of violence runs counter to all religious and humanitarian values as it trifles with the sanctity of innocent lives," Al-Zayyani said in a statement here Thursday night.

He renewed the commitment of the GCC member countries to help "sisterly Yemen" in addressing the challenges of the transitional period.

The bomb attack killed ten police cadets and injured 15 others yesterday.
