The ongoing Omani Products Exhibition, held as part of the Salalah Tourism Festival, continues to attract an overwhelming number of visitors from around the world. The exhibition, which is underway at the Municipality Recreational Centre in Salalah, attempts to promote and advance the importance of purchasing local-made products, and emphasise the local and international competitive capabilities of Omani products.

This event, which will end on July 18, has been as part of the “Omani” Campaign 2012 conducted by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) with the participation of around 80 institutions from the government and private sectors. Hamood bin Abdullah al Balushi, Director of Omani products department at the Directorate General of Marketing and Media — PEIE, said, “The PEIE has signed an agreement with Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE) to organise the Omani Products Expo as part of the consumer exhibition during Salalah Tourism Festival.

The consumer exhibition has been divided into two sections; one is dedicated to the Omani Products Exhibition. This has contributed greatly in attracting a large number of consumers compared to previous years.” According to Al Balushi, PEIE is currently organising a series of events aimed at families and children in Dhofar Governorate with the aim of introducing Omani products to different segments of the society. The campaign also targets various Omani Women’s Associations and a number of centres involving children.
