President Hadi: new era has begun in Yemen

Yemen News Agency - 04 July, 2012

President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi said on Tuesday a new era has begun that would change the governance system positively and optimally in Yemen.

During his meeting with heads of the Yemeni communities in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, the USA and the United Kingdom, President Hadi said that the country has managed to overcome most of the challenges in spite of the security, economic and political complicated crises.

Defeating al-Qaeda would not be the last of such challenges, Hadi said, pointing to the devastation that has been left due to the war against the so-called "Ansar al-Sharia".

"The previous conflicts and crises Yemen has experienced were nothing compared to the current one, which was very close from the point of no return."

The capital and other governorates were divided, the roads were blocked and the situation was very intricate, the president said, adding "that has left me with no choices but to bear the responsibility to save the country in cooperation with the good people in Yemen."

He said that the entire world has backed Yemen not to go to a civil war, whose aftermaths would impact on the region and the whole world because of the strategic location of Yemen that links the east with the west.

Yemen enjoys an unprecedented international and regional consensus to put an end to its crisis, he said, stressing that the critical situation the country is undergoing now requires the cooperation of every Yemeni to help in enhancing its stability.
