Explosion near Hama kills four people   

Kuwait News Agency - 14 July, 2012

A truck rigged with explosives went off in the town of Mahardeh in countryside of the central town of Hama, killing a number of civilians and military personnel, the state-run media said on Saturday.

SANA, the government news agency, said the booby-trapped lorry was blown up by its lone driver in western district of the town. The explosives were camouflaged with a cargo of onions.

The fiery blast killed three civilians, wounded scores others and inflicted extensive damage in the residential area. It also took the life of a member of the government order keeping squad.
