RTA keen to help Yemenis

Gulf Today - 21 July, 2012

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has allocated boxes for the collection of donations that will be delivered to the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, which in turn will pass them over to the people of Yemen.

The RTA participated in co-ordination with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, said the Director of RTA Marketing and Corporate Communication Dr Aysha Al Busmait.

She said all the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), directors, managers and employees “took part in fund-raising.”

“This participation is in line with the drive initiated by our supreme and wise leadership to alleviate the sufferings of others and rescue them from death,” she added.

Dr Al Busmait said, “The Yemeni people in particular are suffering from famine and malnutrition, and food insecurity is impacting a wide spectrum of the community inside the country as well as refugees near the borders as a result of the recent turn of events.”
