HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Bakri, Minister of Manpower, issued a ministerial decision to restructure the Social Dialogue Committee formed by ministerial decision No. 99/ 2010 under the chairmanship of the minister.

The decision stipulates that the Ministry of Manpower is represented in the committee by the undersecretary at the Ministry of Manpower for labour affairs (deputy head), labour welfare adviser, director-general of the directorate-general of labour welfare and director of trade unions in the directorate-general of labour welfare (rapporteur).

It also includes membership from Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), HE Khalil Bin Abdullah Al Khonji, OCCI Chairman, Said Bin Salih Al Kiyoumi, OCCI Board Member, and Abduladheem Bin Abbas Al Bahrani, OCCI Director-General.

The General Federation for the Workers of the Sultanate of Oman (GFWSO) is represented in the committee by Saud Bin Ali Al Jabri, GFWSO Chairman, Nabhan Bin Ahmed Al Battashi, GFWSO Deputy Chairman, and Aida Bint Shamis Al Hashimiyah, GFWSO Secretary-General.

The decision also stipulates that the committee examines the latest developments in Arab and international labour standards to benefit from them in the promotion of social dialogue in a manner that serves labour relations between the production parties.

The committee will handle the joint cooperation to guide the efforts of the social partners in the labour market in order to increase production, enhance competitiveness and achieve balance and harmony between the interests of employees and employers in a manner that enhances the national effort to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
